Research Activities


• Investigating the safety of polymyxins on human neutrophils and macrophages immune cells.

• Testing the innate immune system response in a zebrafish model against resistant bacteria and the impact of  polymyxins and their synergistic combinations immunomodulatory effect on this response.

• Examining modifications in the antibacterial activity of polymyxins co-cultured with resistant superbugs- infected human neutrophils and macrophages immune cells.


Techniques/Expertise

Tissue culturing, HPLC, Immunostaining, Immunohistochemical and Histopathopathological staining, Flow cytometry, functional behaviour analysis, florescence and confocal Microscopy imaging

Disease Models

Human Macrophage and Neutrophil cell lines, Zebrafsih, PD mouse model

Genetically Modified Organisms

Various transgenic zebrafish models
