  • Tissue culture and microscopy of Plasmodium falciparum in human erythrocytes
  • Flow cytometry analysis of infected human erythrocytes to monitor parasitemia levels.
  • Parasite growth inhibition assays using approved B-Raf inhibitors and FDA anti-cancer theraputics-SB590885, Dabrafenib, and PLX8394
  • Evaluation of potential of resistance to the selected B-Raf inhibitors
  • Assessment of phenotypic differences post-inhibition treatment
  • Cloning and sequencing of resistant phenotypes
  • Synchronization and magnetic purification of parasite life-stages
  • Wesrern blotting to monitor activation status of B-Raf kinase post-inhibition treatment using B-Raf specific antibodies.
  • Data visualization and analysis using MS Excel, GraphPad prism and many more.
