The immune system plays a central role in maintaining human health and fighting disease. The last several decades have been an exciting time in the field, not only in unraveling immune mechanisms but also in harnessing its remarkable power in designing new therapies to combat diseases. The GRC conference in Immunochemistry and Immunobiology, which has been running for over five decades, serves as an intimate forum for inspiring yet friendly presentations, brainstorming sessions and discussions on a broad range of cutting-edge basic, applied and clinical topics in immunology.
The 2020 GRC is comprised of 9 half-day sessions, with talks by approximately 30 established researchers, encompassing the following research areas: Immune cells activation during infection and vaccination, neuroimmunology and tumor immunology. One of the goals of the conference is to recognize and nurture the next wave of talented immunologists. In light of this, there will be talks by junior investigators selected from the submitted abstracts. There will also be an associated Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) for graduate students and post-docs, which will take place on the weekend just prior to the GRC.
