The VIIN Emerging Leaders Committee is delighted to invite you to our second workshop for 2026!
“Science, Distilled: Effective Communication From Abstract to Presentation” will be held on Wednesday 1 July from 10am – 12pm.
This online workshop is designed to equip students and EMCR scientists with the necessary skills to communicate their research effectively for scientific conferences, from writing abstract submissions to preparing oral presentations. Speakers will discuss tips and tricks for scientific communication and provide insight from their own experiences and expertise.
Join us online to hear insights from three excellent communicators, each familiar with presenting their research to a variety of symposium, conference, and lay audiences. Our panel members will share their advice and guidance on three key topics critical for effective scientific communication, including how to write a high-quality conference abstract, how to present experimental data and communicate a research story, planning ahead to strengthen oral presentations, and tips for engaging with the conference audience. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A session with the webinar audience.
We especially recommend this workshop to all VIIN students and ECRs who plan to submit an abstract for this year’s VIIN Young Investigator Symposium.
Register here by 5pm AEST, Friday 26 June 2026 to receive webinar details.
