Growth of aerobic and anaerobic bacterial cultures; DNA, RNA and protein extraction; mutagenesis, cloning, sequencing and bioinformatic analysis; recombinant protein expression, size-exclusion and affinity protein purification, high-performance liquid chromatography; PCR and qPCR; gel electrophoresis and immunoblotting; enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays; co-immunoprecipitation assays; transmission electron microscopy; liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and proteomic analysis; human cell line tissue culture; flow cytometry for cell counting; in vitro assays of bacteria:bacteria cell binding, human:bacteria cell binding, infection, phagocystosis, NF-kB and TLR activation, cytokine production; fluorescent confocal microscopy; in vivo murine models of disease.
